As a result of the RFQ round, the 4 most competitive suppliers were invited to a Cherry Dutch Auction to compete in a maximum pressure environment, pushing for best possible price and delivery time.
The opening bid started from an unrealistically low level and was increased incrementally every 30 seconds, until such time as the most competitive supplier price level was reached, with the winning bidder subsequently being awarded the whole volume of 2 lots (containing a total of 7 different product types).
The auction drove total savings of 15% within 3 minutes of the event start, enabling the client to place orders at market leading pricings and meet their deadline for delivery of first orders.
