Manufacturing Client Achieves additional savings of 15% on Carboard Boxes for Packaging.
Challenge
An international leader in sustainable climate comfort solutions, wanted to find a UK supplier for a bespoke range of cardboard boxes to package their bespoke design of valves and controls.
Solution
The client utilized a RFQ Bidmatrix to obtain quotes for best pricing, lead times, MOQs, tooling and service levels from multiple suppliers, with a key focus on availability for short delivery times for the first delivery.
As a result of the RFQ round, the 4 most competitive suppliers were invited to a Cherry Dutch Auction to compete in a maximum pressure environment, pushing for best possible price and delivery time.
The opening bid started from an unrealistically low level and was increased incrementally every 30 seconds, until such time as the most competitive supplier price level was reached, with the winning bidder subsequently being awarded the whole volume of 2 lots (containing a total of 7 different product types).
Result
The auction drove total savings of 15% within 3 minutes of the event start, enabling the client to place orders at market leading pricings and meet their deadline for delivery of first orders.
According to the client without the use of Scanmarket they would have likely paid over the odds to obtain any first delivery in a timely fashion.
